Hexagonal Full Exhaust Systems by Akrapovic
The Akrapovic Racing or Evolution system with
the hexagonal design muffler goes extremely well with the bold design of the
Kawasaki. And of course in addition to visual enhancement, these systems also
offer a substantial performance boost. In keeping with the character of the
bike, these systems were designed for riders who know how to get the most out of
their machines.
The
Racing and Evolution systems differ only in their selection of tubing
materials. The Racing uses stainless steel, and the Evolution titanium. The
header tubes for both systems are made using the hydroforming process, the
collectors are cylindrical and the Y link pipe is conical. Additional
cylindrical link pipes are welded to both mufflers. All of the components of
the system are connected with sleeve joints held together using
silicon-shielded springs. The system also includes fittings for attaching
three lambda sensors. The mufflers are the HEXAGONAL design, which look
great with the sleek back end and under-the-seat location. The muffler for
the Racing system has stainless steel welded on link pipes, and stainless
steel inlet caps and perforated inner sleeves. The Evolution system has
titanium link pipes, and titanium inlet caps and perforated inner sleeves.
The outlet caps are made of carbon-fiber for both systems. The outer sleeves
are available in either titanium or carbon-fiber. The mufflers are attached
to the frame using Akrapovic carbon-fiber clamps.

Power & Torque:
as can be seen from the power and torque curves, the system delivers a major
performance increase. The location of the increase fits the character of the
bike, starting in the middle of the range and reaching to the top end, right
where racing conditions demand it. At 12,000 RPM the Kawasaki put out a huge
170 HP with the Akrapovic system. Max. increased power was a massive 7.2 HP at 12,300
RPM.
