Akrapovic 2005-2006 Kawasaki ZX6R / ZX6RR Hexagonal Slip-On Exhaust System The 2005-2006 Kawasaki ZX6R and ZX6RR supersport motorcycles are definitely head turners. To improve their sleek looks even further, Akrapovic has developed a slip-on exhaust system which fits smoothly into the bold lines of the Kawasaki. The Akrapovic slip-on exhaust system is designed for riders who are looking for an excellent combination of aesthetics, quality, price and of course a performance enhancement. The Akrapovic slip-on exhaust systems for both the ZX6R 636 and the ZX6RR are identical.   The Akrapovic slip-on exhaust system is visually totally different from what we have been used to up to now. The major difference is the ‘double’ outlet cap. The interior is made of stainless steel as are the inlet cap and inner perforation and the carbon fiber outlet cap cover gives the system a stylish racing look. The system also includes a cylindrical stainless steel link pipe connected to the muffler with a sleeve joint secured with silicon shielded tensioning springs. At the other end, the link pipe is attached to the stock link pipe with a sleeve joint secured with a metal clamp. The muffler is available only with a titanium outer sleeve. It is attached to the frame with a special Akrapovic carbon fiber clamp. The kit also contains a mandatory Akrapovic stainless steel bracket for the rear light harness. Since the system conforms to all noise level requirements, it does not include a built in exhaust valve. 2005-2006 Kawasaki ZX6R / ZX6RR Hex Slip-On Exhaust System Dyno Chart Power & Torque: The system works exceptionally well with the Kawasaki engine as shown by both the power and torque curves. The power curve follows the stock curve up to around 6000 rpm, and then shows an increase which extends right into the overrev range. The ZX6R 636 receives 118.5 HP at 13850 rpm, while the ZX6RR, which is more race oriented, puts out 115.4 HP at 14250 rpm. The torque curve is increased throughout the entire rpm range.
