2005-2006 Kawasaki ZX6R/RR Evolution / Racing Hexagonal Full Exhaust System by Akrapovic
The Akrapovic Racing or Evolution system with
the hexagonal design muffler goes extremely well with the bold design of the
Kawasaki. And of course in addition to visual enhancement, these systems also
offer a substantial performance boost. In keeping with the character of the
bike, these systems were designed for riders who know how to get the most out of
their machines.
The
Akrapovic Racing and Evolution systems are identical except for their choice
of materials. The Racing system is made of stainless steel, the Evolution
titanium. Performance is the same for both systems. The Hydroforming process
is used to shape the header tubes for both systems, which allows us to
achieve the optimal tube shape for the flow of the exhaust gases. The header
tubes, collector, link pipe and muffler are connected with sleeve joints
held together with silicon-shielded tensioning springs. The header tubes
also include interference crossover tubes, and the system also has a fitting
for installing a lambda sensor. The system’s collector is cylindrical, while
the link pipe is conical. The muffler is made entirely of titanium: inlet
and outlet cap, inner perforation and outer sleeve. The titanium outlet cap
is additionally fitted with a carbon-fiber outlet cap sheath, which nicely
complements the rear end of the Kawasaki. The muffler is attached to the
frame using an Akrapovic carbon-fiber clamp. The Akrapovic exhaust system
also comes with an Akrapovic stainless steel bracket which must be installed
in order to mount the rear light harness.

Power & Torque:Despite the fact that Akrapovic Racing and
Evolution systems are known for their performance at high rpms, both
versions of the ZX-6 get a major boost already in the middle of the range
around 5000 rpm. The power and torque increase is nearly constant from there
on and extend to the very top of the range. At lower revs the Akrapovic
curve more or less follows the stock power curve, while the torque curve
shows a major increase below 3800 rpm.
