2005-2006 Suzuki GSXR1000 Evolution2 / Evolution / Racing Hexagonal Full Exhaust System by Akrapovic
The Akrapovic Racing or Evolution system with
the hexagonal design muffler goes extremely well with the bold design of the
Suzuki. And of course in addition to visual enhancement, these systems also
offer a substantial performance boost. In keeping with the character of the
bike, these systems were designed for riders who know how to get the most out of
their machines.
Evolution2
Evolution /
Racing
The 4-2-1 configurations of
the RACING and EVOLUTION 1 systems are identical, differing only in material
selection. The RACING uses stainless steel, the EVOLUTION 1 titanium. The Akrapovic EVOLUTION 2
exhaust system for the Suzuki GSXR1000 is intended only for races and
championships which allow louder exhaust systems – 107 dB. The EVOLUTION 2
differs from the EVOLUTION 1 and RACING systems in the design of the
muffler. The muffler is shorter and louder (103 dB) than the muffler for the
EVOLUTION 1 and RACING systems. The upper part of the header tubes are
formed using the state-of-the-art HYDROFORMING procedure, where the tubes
are formed using pressurized water. Using this procedure we have obtained
maximum exploitation of the exhaust gas flow for the Suzuki. The system
leads into two collectors, and from there into a single link pipe and
muffler. The muffler outer sleeve is available in either carbon-fiber or
titanium. The performance is unchanged in either case. The interior of the
muffler is also the same in both cases. A carbonfiber muffler hanging
bracket is standard on the EVOLUTION2 system, whereby the passenger footpegs have to
be removed since the muffler sits in a slightly higher position with the
carbonfiber bracket. All tubes are connected with sleeve joints held
together with silicon-shielded tensioning springs.

/ Evolution / Racing Exhaust System Dyno Chart
Power & Torque:the purpose of the Akrapovic Evolution system
can be seen from the power curve. The system provides a linear increase
throughout almost the entire range, and the greatest increase is at the very
top of the range. With the Evolution the rear wheel puts out a huge 170 HP
at 12000 rpm. The max. increased power is a healthy 11.4 HP at 12250 rpm.
The
torque curve also reflects the exhaust system upgrade. The engine is more
responsive between 3000 and 4000 rpm, after which its torque response dips
slightly below that of the stock system, but from 5600 rpm on the engine is
again more lively. The increase extends into the overrev range.
