Akrapovic 2009-2012 Yamaha R1 Evolution2 / Evolution / Racing Slash Cut Full Exhaust Systems The Akrapovic 2009-2012 Yamaha R1 Racing and Evolution Hexagonal full exhaust systems are designed for racing oriented riders who demand maximum performance. Both systems feature exceptional production quality, hi-tech materials and of course increased engine performance combined with pure racing sound output. Their quality and reputation are further augmented by the use of the high-tech HYDROFORMING production process to form the header tubes. Both systems are significantly lighter compared to the stock exhaust system. The Akrapovic Racing and Evolution systems were developed to complement the racing character of the R1.   The 2009-2012 Yamaha R1 Akrapovic Evolution2 and Evolution exhaust systems are made entirely of exclusive high grade Akrapovic titanium while the Racing systems use stainless steel header tubes and link pipes. The systems feature conical header tubes formed by using hydroforming technology. The individual parts of the system are connected using free floating joints secured with silicon shielded tensioning springs. The mufflers are available with either carbon fiber or titanium outer sleeves. The muffler interior perforation and inlet cap are made entirely of titanium while the outlet cap is made of carbon fiber. The muffler is secured to the bike using Akrapovic carbon fiber clamps. 2009-2012 Yamaha R1 Evo2 / Evo / Racing Slash Cut Exhaust Dyno Chart Power & Torque: The 2009-2012 Yamaha R1 Akrapovic Evolution2, Evolution and Racing full exhaust systems provide a substantial power increase seen from 7000 rpm right to the top of the range. A massive 165.7 HP was measured at 12460 rpm at the back wheel. Maximum increased power of 7.8 HP was measured at 5900 rpm over the the stock system. The system’s effect on the torque and power curve is huge and strongest in mid-range rpm. The main increase starts at around 4500 rpm and continues right into the over-rev range. All this will help you shave lap times and result in a much smoother ride.
