The Icon Airframe Helmet represents the pinnacle in modern helmet design. The Airframe is equipped with multiple safety and comfort features, developed through exhaustive lab research and real world testing. Premier manufacturing processes assure that the Airframe meets the highest quality and safety standards in the world. When fitted properly, the precisely engineered Fiberglass / Dyneema / Carbon Fiber composite shell and energy absorbing dual density EPS liner greatly reduce the possibility of head injuries in the event of an accident. To keep you focused on what's ahead of you, the Airframe is fitted with Icon's new ProShield. Not only is the ProShield available in a variety of tinted styles with side plates for more graphic real estate, it features the ProLock shield lock system to keep your shield locked down, even during those 150 mph head checks. The Airframe is available with cheek pads that are interchangeable across the entire size range for tailoring just the right fit. Additionally, the HydraDry moisture wicking material used throughout the interior comfort liner and extensive venting system combine to produce the industry's most ventilated and comfortable helmet.
Venting
The Icon Airframe Helmet's 'SuperVent' venting system is the finest motorcycle venting system on the market. Operating at both low or high speed, the Airframe provides true ventilation not found in other helmets. Up front, at 20mm, are the industries largest intake ports. They guarantee cool air stays flowing through 9 separate air channels thereby cooling the head. Warm air is routed out via massive 35mm exhaust ports located under the integrated air diffuser wing. A chin intake routes cool air onto the inner shield to help prevent fogging, while secondary breath exhaust ports located inside the chinbar move warm air out. The glove friendly main vent switch up top allows you to manipulate everything on the fly, so you can customize your cooling at both high and low speeds.
Construction
The Icon Airframe Helmet's advanced shell construction, an engineered composite of Fiberglass, Carbon Fiber and Dyneema, was designed for robust performance without undue weight. The shell matrix meets or exceeds Snell M2005 / FMVSS 218 DOT Helmet Standards. Internally the Dual Density EPS protective liner helps provide superior impact absorption capabilities. The Airframe is manufactured in three distinct shell sizes (and multiple EPS sizes) ensuring you get a true, custom fit.
Comfort
Comfort is key in any helmet and the Icon Airframe doesn't skimp. The comfort liner is composed of a tri-density foam compound that comfortably cradles the head within the shell structure. The top layer of the comfort liner is composed of Icon's proprietary moisture wicking HydraDry material. HydraDry rapidly transports moisture (sweat) away from the head providing increased cooling. The comfort liner is completely removable allowing you to wash it. The Airframe, like all Icon helmets, features a customizable interior. By replacing your existing cheek pads with thinner cheek pads you can produce a slightly looser fit through the cheek and face area. Replacing your stock cheek pads with thicker cheek pads will yield a slightly tighter fit. Additionally, there are many different graphic styles of cheek pads and liners available.
Shield
The ProShield technology on the Icon Airframe Helmet means there's no distortion in your view of the world. The three dimensional shield molding process provides true optical clarity not available in typical flat shields. The ProShield is fog free, scratch resistant and, thanks to the ProLock system, stays closed even at high speeds. A stout ABS Quick Change ratchet system allows you to easily swap to a wide variety of available tinted shields. Removable sideplates clip to ProShield to extend graphic coverage. The ProShield meets or exceeds Vehicle Safety Commission Regulations (VESC-8) and / or ECE safety regulations.
