Features
Evolved. Refined. Perfected. Icon has never been satisfied with the status quo which is why they created the new Icon Alliance Helmet. Based on the proven Alliance SSR, this nexgen helmet is fitted with a multitude of key revisions. The first revision is the new EPS liner. Icon has listened to the customers requests and reshaped the EPS liner into a more oval geometry. This new headform increases rider comfort by slightly elongating the entire inner circumference. Combine this geometry with the removable HydraDry wicking comfort liner and the result is a nearly perfect rider focused enclosure. To further increase rider comfort, Icon revised the entire venting system. Much like a finely tuned motor, they have reshaped and enlarged the intake and exhaust ports for increased airflow. Additional ventilation ports have also been added to the lateral aspect of the helmet to further increase ventilation. The shield itself has been upgraded to Icon's distortion free ProShield. The ProShield features the ProLock shield locking system, graphic enabled sideplates, fog free coating, and a no tools shield change interface. Continuing with their commitment to excellence, the Icon Alliance Helmet is constructed with premier manufacturing processes and stringent quality assurance procedures. This, combined with rigorous testing, assures that the Icon Alliance meets or exceeds the highest safety standards in the world (DOT, ECE, SG, SAI).
Venting
The Icon Alliance molded twin channel Supervent system consists of strategically placed intakes, vents, air channels and exhaust ports all designed to keep your head cool. Two independent intake and exhaust ports located fore and aft are controlled via individual on / off switches to ensure total control over airflow in the helmet. When activated, air is forced directly into the helmet, channeled between the comfort liner and protective EPS, and expelled through the rear exhaust ports. A chin intake routes cool air onto the inner shield to help reduce fogging, while secondary breath exhaust ports located inside the chinbar allow warm air to escape.
Construction
The Icon Alliance's injection molded polycarbonate shell was designed for robust performance without undue weight. The shell meets or exceeds Snell M2005 / FMVSS 218 DOT Helmet Standards. Internally, the Dual Density EPS protective liner helps provide superior impact absorption capabilities.
Comfort
Comfort is key in any helmet, and the Icon Alliance doesn't skimp. The comfort liner is composed of a tri-density foam compound that comfortably cradles the head within the shell structure. The top layer of the comfort liner is composed of Icon's proprietary moisture wicking HydraDry material. HydraDry rapidly transports moisture (sweat) away from the head providing increased cooling. The comfort liner is completely removable to allow for washing. The Alliance, like all Icon helmets, features a customizable interior. By replacing your existing cheek pads with thinner cheek pads you can produce a slightly looser fit through your cheek and face area. Replacing your stock cheek pads with thicker cheek pads will yield a slightly tighter fit.
Shield
Precision optics by Icon provide you with a clear undistorted line of sight. This is accomplished with a three dimensional shield molding process that provides true optical clarity not available in typical flat shields. A stout ABS Quick Change ratchet system allows you to easily swap to wide variety of available tinted shields. The scratch resistant fog free coating keeps you focused on what's ahead while exceeding Vehicle Safety Commission Regulations (VESC-8) and / or ECE safety regulations.
